## What’s a Pick Your Perk Plan?

Pick Your Perk Plans let you personalize your phone plan with one  free feature of your choosing (that’s the “perk”).

  - One free perk is included per plan.
  - You can add more perks as monthly add-ons, as long as they’re available for your rate plan.

## Who can get a Pick Your Perk plan?

Pick Your Perk plans are available to:

  - New customers
  - Existing customers who change to a Pick Your Perk Plan
  - Customers who bring their own phone.

The perks you can choose depend on your rate plan. You can change, remove or add more perks anytime with Self Serve:

### Premium Voicemail

  - Store up to 25 voicemail messages 
  - Receive Instant Voicemail via MMS.

### Unlimited International SMS 

  - Send and receive unlimited international SMS and MMS from Canada free of charge.

### Rollover Data 

  - Keep unused data from your rate plan and roll it over into the next month
  - After you use all of your monthly plan’s data, your Rollover Data is used automatically
  - Rollover Data is available for one billing cycle only. Unused rolled-over data expires at the end of the next billing cycle.

__Important:__
  - The Rollover Data perk can only be used in Canada and is not accessible when travelling internationally with [Easy Roam](https://www.koodomobile.com/en/services/easyroam) or the 3-Day Easy Roam perk
  - When you switch off or remove the Rollover Data perk, any unused rolled over data is  immediately forfeited, even if it hasn’t yet expired. 

  ### 10GB bonus data

  - The 10 GB bonus data perk adds 10GB of __extra high-speed data__ on top of your rate plan’s data, at 5G speeds (up to 250 Mbps)
  - Your total usable high speed data becomes your rate plan’s data plus 10 GB. 

  ### 3-Day Easy Roam 
  The 3-Day Easy Roam perk lets you use your rate plan’s data, talk and text while travelling outside Canada.

__How it works:__

  - You get 3 roaming days per bill cycle
  - Use all three days at once or spread them out throughout your billing cycle
  - You get a fresh set of 3 days every billing cycle (unused days are not carried over)
  - Any additional days you roam beyond the 3 days are charged at the in-market [Easy Roam](https://www.koodomobile.com/en/services/easyroam) rate
  - You’ll need to choose between __3-Day Easy Roam US__ (for US travel) or __3-Day Easy Roam International__ (for over 200 international destinations)—you can’t have both active at the same time. 

__Important:__ Roaming features can’t be combined.

  - Roaming promotions or Travel Passes can’t be used together
  - If you have more than one roaming feature, the most recently added roaming feature is the one that will be used.

__Example:__
  - You have a 3-Day Easy Roam perk on your account and then you add a Travel Pass
  - When you travel, the Travel Pass will be used instead of the 3-Day Easy Roam perk.
 (for over 200 international destinations)—you can’t have both active at the same time. 

__Important:__ Roaming features can’t be combined.

  - Roaming promotions or Travel Passes can’t be used together
  - If you have more than one roaming feature, the most recently added roaming feature is the one that will be used.

__Example:__
  - You have a 3-Day Easy Roam perk on your account and then you add a Travel Pass
  - When you travel, the Travel Pass will be used instead of the 3-Day Easy Roam perk.

## How to Select or Change Perks

### You can select your free perk, change your current perk, or add extra perks with Self Serve. 

__Using Self Serve:__

1. Log in to Self Serve
2. Select ‘Mobile services’ from the Self Serve menu
  - Alternatively, you can select a subscriber (if applicable), then select ‘Manage plans and add-ons’ on the Overview page
3. In the ‘My add-ons’ panel, select ‘Manage perks’
4. You’ll then be able to pick your perk right away!

  ### When do perk changes I make take effect? 

The timing of your __perk changes__ depends on what you update.

__Changes that take effect immediately:__

  - You change both your rate plan and select a perk
  - You add or remove a perk add-on.

__Important:__
  - Existing Koodo customer can switch to a Pick Your Perk plan with Self Serve if there’s no outstanding Tab and/or Tab Bonus balance
  - Existing customers who want to change their rate plan to a Pick Your Perk Plan that's not offered in their current Tab level will need to pay the remaining Tab balance before the plan change can be completed.

__Changes that take effect on your next bill cycle:__
  - You switch only your free perk and keep the same rate plan.

### Why does Koodo have Pick Your Perk plans?
At Koodo, we’re all about letting customers choose what makes them happy. Letting them pick a free perk is just another way for us to do that.

 ### Does TELUS have Pick Your Perk plans? 
  No. Pick Your Perk Plans are only at Koodo. But since we’re a part of the TELUS family, Koodo customers still have access to TELUS’ great network that has you covered from coast-to-coast.

 ### Can I get Pick Your Perk plans if I bring my own phone?    
Yes. All Pick Your Perk plans are available to all Koodo customers, even if you bring your own phone.  

 ### Are Pick Your Perkplans available online?   
Yes. You can activate a Pick Your Perk plan online. After that, you’ll need to access Self Serve to add your perk and get more perks if needed.  

   ### What is Premium Voicemail?   
Premium Voicemail is the combination of two voicemail features: The first is Voicemail 25, which increases your voicemail storage to 25 messages (an increase from the standard 10). The second is Instant Voicemail, which delivers an audio file of your voice messages to your phone via text.  

### Can I move from a starter plan to a Pick Your Perk plan? 
 Yes. You’re always welcome to switch to one of the new Koodo Pick Your Perk rate plans. 

 ### What if I don’t want to switch to a Pick Your Perk Plan? 
If you’re happy with your existing rate plan, you don’t have to change a thing! You just won’t have access to any of the “perk” features that are available with a Pick Your Perk Plan.  

 ### Can I have both Rollover Data and Unlimited Data on my plan?

No. Customers can choose either the Rollover Data perk or the Unlimited Data perk, but not both. This is because Rollover Data relies on unused data carrying over to the next month, whereas Unlimited Data provides unlimited full-speed data each month—so the two features can’t be combined.    

### What’s the difference between Rollover Data and Unlimited Data?

Rollover Data extends unused data into your next billing cycle, while Unlimited Data lets you keep using data in the same billing cycle after you reach your rate plan’s data limit (at reduced speeds).

__Rollover Data__
  - Unused data from your rate plan carries over to the next billing cycle
  - Rolled-over data is used after your rate plan’s included data
  - Rollover data expires at the end of the next billing cycle.

__Unlimited Data__
  - You can continue using data within the same billing cycle after reaching your rate plan’s high-speed data limit, at reduced speeds
  - Your full high-speed data resets at the start of your next billing cycle.

__Example (Unlimited Data):__
  - Your plan includes 50 GB of high-speed data
  - You use all 50 GB before your billing cycle ends
  - You can continue using data at reduced speeds until your next billing cycle
  - At the start of your next billing cycle, your full-speed 50 GB resets.

### What are legacy perks?

Some perks available on earlier versions of Pick Your Perk plans are no longer offered as new options. If your plan includes a legacy perk, you can continue to enjoy it as part of your current plan. When you next upgrade or change your plan, you'll be able to choose from our current perk selection.

__5G Speed Boost__ 
(Not available to new customers)

  - Doubles your 5G speed up to 500 Mbps download speed
  - Available only on 5G speed plans
  - Applies to Fast Pass purchases

__Unlimited Data__
(Not available to new customers)

The Unlimited Data perk allows you to use as much data as you like while in Canada and never be charged data overages. After your plan’s high-speed data is used, your maximum speed will be reduced to a maximum of 512 Kbps for the rest of your billing cycle. This means you’ll still be able to browse the Internet and use email, but video quality will be reduced and other high-bandwidth applications will take longer to load.
