Learn about how you may be eligible for the adjustment, how it’s calculated, and how it will impact your bill.
Am I eligible for the Tab & Tab Bonus Balance Adjustment?
If you purchased a new phone with a Tab on or after November 28, 2022 and if you cancel or upgrade early and have to pay off your existing Tab and/or Tab Bonus balance, you may be eligible for a Tab & Tab Bonus Balance Adjustment.
How is the adjustment calculated?
The Tab & Tab Bonus Balance Adjustment is calculated by first subtracting the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) at the time of your Agreement Effective Date from the Full Retail Price, which makes up the total Tab & Tab Bonus Balance Adjustment.
Your Tab & Tab Bonus Balance Adjustment will reduce equally over a 24-month period until it reaches $0. If you cancel, upgrade early, or complete an ineligible rate plan change before your Tab & Tab Bonus Balance Adjustment reaches $0, you’ll receive the amount remaining as an adjustment on your bill.
For example, if you purchase an iPhone 14 Plus 128 GB at a retail price of $1,285 and the MSRP is listed at $1,249, your Tab & Tab Bonus Balance Adjustment will be $36 ($1,285 - $1,249) on your Agreement Effective Date. The Tab & Tab Bonus Balance Adjustment will reduce by $1.50 equally over 24 months ($36 / 24 months) until the balance reaches $0 at month 24.
We’re using the MSRP listed on the original equipment manufacturer’s (OEMs) Canadian website at the time your agreement started.
Do I still have to pay the remaining Tab and/or Tab Bonus balance if I cancel early?
Yes. If you cancel your service or if Koodo terminates the Agreement in accordance with the Service Terms, any Tab balance plus the Tab Bonus balance becomes due and payable. All other charges owing to Koodo for use of the service will be due when the Agreement is terminated. The remaining Tab balance and Tab Bonus balance will be calculated based on an equal monthly reduction over a 24-month period.
Will I see the adjustment on my bill?
Yes. The Tab & Tab Bonus Balance Adjustment should appear on the first bill after your early cancellation or early upgrade. If it doesn’t appear on the bill immediately following your early cancellation or early upgrade, it’ll appear on the next bill.
Do I have to initiate anything on my end to receive the adjustment?
No. If you’re eligible for the Tab & Tab Bonus Balance Adjustment, we’ll take care of the rest.
