Is my phone compatible with Koodo?

If you’ve bought a phone through anyone other than Koodo we can’t guarantee that it will be compatible with our network. This is because different phones operate on different frequencies, meaning that phones that work in some regions or networks won’t work in or on others, for example if you bought a phone in Europe, it may not be compatible with networks here in Canada. Have a look below for all of the information you need to see if your phone will be compatible with the Koodo network.

Koodo network coverage

You can find out the kind of coverage we provide to you have in your region by checking out koodomobile.com/network. In super remote areas where there is no coverage, some devices can still make and receive calls using Wi-Fi Calling.

Frequency bands & compatibility

Koodo uses the following frequency bands to provide our service:

4G LTE and LTE Advanced:

2100 MHz downlink and 1700 MHz uplink (AWS)

1900 MHz

700 MHz

850 MHz

HSPA:

850 MHz and 1900 MHz (UMTS)

We guarantee the compatibility of all devices that we sell through our website, stores and authorized retailers. However, if you have a device you bought elsewhere (online, abroad, from another provider etc…) then it may not be compatible with our network. If you have a device that you didn’t buy from Koodo and you’re wondering if it will work on our network use our network compatibility tool and find out. Some international devices may only be able to support hardware connection to some radio frequencies and not others. In these cases, the phone won’t work in the areas with incompatible frequencies.

Troubleshooting

If your phone suddenly has trouble connecting to a network or starts having issues in an area where it’s never had trouble working before then you should restart it. Often restarting a device will clear up any minor glitches.

Power your phone off, wait few seconds, then power it back on and retry. If your device has a removable battery, remove the battery and put it back in before turning your phone on again.
