Koodo Terms for CBC Gem Premium subscription

These terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) apply to your CBC Gem Premium subscription (“CBC Gem Premium”) with Koodo.

CBC Gem Premium is a service mark of CBC, registered in Canada. CBC Gem Premium is a subscription video service that allows subscribers to stream certain video content to compatible devices from the CBC Gem Premium app or the tou.tv website. Activation of a tou.tv account is required. Visit tou.tv for current programming and pricing, which may change without notice. Your use of tou.tv is subject to the tou.tv Terms and Conditions of Service, posted at https://cbc.radio-canada.ca/en/vision/governance/terms-of-use-digital-services constitutes the agreement between you and CBC. Please ensure you read and understand this agreement before subscribing to CBC Gem Premium through Koodo. You acknowledge that your use of the CBC Gem Premium service is subject to CBC's Privacy Policy and the Supplementary Privacy Policy for Canada (see https://cbc.radio-canada.ca/en/vision/governance/terms-of-use-digital-services).
Minimum Requirements: To use CBC Gem Premium, you must have a compatible device in accordance with the CBC Gem Subscription Agreement. You must create a Koodo account to subscribe and manage your CBC Gem Premium subscription through Koodo. CBC Gem Premium is available as a standalone subscription to existing Koodo customers. If you are a Canadian aged 13 or older and use at least one eligible Koodo product, you can sign up for a CBC Gem Premium subscription at Koodo.com. Compatible products and services required. Viewing quality depends on device and internet connection. An existing or new CBC Gem Premium subscription is required.
Activation: After subscribing to CBC Gem Premium, you will receive an email inviting you to activate your subscription with CBC Gem Premium. The steps to activate your subscriptions are as follows:
  1. A link in the email will take you to Koodo Self Serve, where you will need to log in using your Koodo credentials. If you are late receiving the email, you can also access the CBC Gem Premium activation process directly using the “Manage Subscriptions” link that appears on the thank you page once you have placed your order.
  2. Go to the Subscriptions page, where you will see your CBC Gem Premium subscription. Click the Subscription Activation button, which will redirect you to the gem.cbc.ca website to complete activation by logging in to your account or creating a new account. a. If you do not have a CBC Gem account, you will need to create one. b. If you do have a CBC Gem account through a credit card subscription, that subscription will be automatically canceled. Your existing profile will be retained. If you have a subscription through Apple or Google, you will need to cancel it to avoid double billing.
Billing: Your existing CBC Gem Premium subscription billing will not be transferred to Koodo. If you have a CBC Gem Premium subscription directly with CBC, your subscription will be automatically canceled when you subscribe with Koodo. CBC Gem Premium as a Koodo customer If you subscribe to CBC Gem Premium with Koodo, if you have an eligible product (Stream+ / EnContinu+ Franco), your CBC Gem Premium subscription will be billed at $5.99 + taxes, with combined with a $5.99 discount, for a total of $0. If you do not have EnContinu+ or EnContinu+ Franco, your subscription will be $5.99 per month + taxes. This will be charged to the credit card you added to your Koodo account. An existing or new CBC Gem Premium subscription is required. Your subscription will automatically renew and you will be billed each following month until you cancel your CBC Gem Premium subscription in your Koodo account, in accordance with the "Cancellation" section below. Please note that no invoice will be sent to you. You can view the monthly fees in your Koodo account.
Existing subscription: If you already subscribed to CBC Gem Premium directly with CBC before signing up with Koodo, it will be canceled when you subscribe with Koodo.
After logging into your Koodo account using your new or existing credentials, you can activate CBC Gem Premium using the activation button on the Koodo subscriptions page. Clicking this button will complete the activation by linking your account. If you use a second direct payment account with Google or Apple, this subscription will not be canceled. Please cancel your subscription before signing up with Koodo.
Cancellation: You can cancel your CBC Gem Premium subscription with Koodo at any time through your Koodo account. Koodo may also cancel your CBC Gem Premium subscription, at its sole discretion and without notice, if it suspects fraudulent activity, misuse of your subscription, or a violation of these Terms and Conditions or any applicable law. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
Please note that if you are a subscriber residing in Quebec, you may cancel your subscription immediately and will receive a prorated credit for the period of use, if applicable.
